Roland Kuhn is a Principal Research Officer at National Research Council of Canada (NRC). He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Theoretical Biology from University of Chicago. Since Sept. 2017, he has headed NRC’s Indigenous Languages Technology (ILT) project. Dr. Kuhn’s research has focused on automatic speech recognition, machine translation, and technologies for assisting Indigenous language revitalization. He has published over 70 papers in refereed journals and conferences, and holds 32 US patents.
