Workshop: Introduction to GPU Data Science with RAPIDS
09h00 - 10h00RAPIDS is a suite of software libraries for executing end-to-end data science completely on GPUs. It relies on NVIDIA® CUDA® primitives for low-level compute optimization, but exposes that GPU parallelism and high-bandwidth memory speed through user-friendly Python interfaces. In this talk, the speaker will give an introduction to RAPIDS and GPU data science. A hands-on demo will be provided to show how RAPIDS can help drastically reduce model training time and improve productivity.

Collaborative Intelligence: How the emergence of Data Fabric technology unlocks the next big shift
10h30 - 11h00Your brain manages more data than the biggest organizations on the planet. More than Google, more than JP Morgan, more than most governments.
This amazing feat is accomplished with a network-based design that produces faster outcomes as more knowledge is linked. This is exactly how Autonomous Data Fabric technology works. It takes the datasets from fragmented apps and data stores and upgrades them to a single interconnected network, enabling accelerated IT projects while reducing data silos and data integration overheads. The best part? It keeps getting better with every project.
Join Dan DeMers, CEO and Co-founder of Cinchy, as he explains why leading analysts are reporting on how Data Fabric technology is the next big shift and how you can develop plasticity in your Target State Architecture through Autonomous Data. Dan will walk through a roadmap for the future that will show you how your IT teams can cut time to market and eliminate the need to buy, build, or integrate new applications.

Leveraging Real time Data & Actionable Insights for the Financial Sector
13h00 - 13h30As the financial services sector is undoubtedly the most data-intensive sector in the global economy, the influence of Big Data on the sector is tough to overestimate. Due to the increasing and changing customer expectations, business intelligence and data analytics having become a crucial element architectural optimization for banks. There’s a strong requirement for real-time models leveraging the data driven decisions making concept. In this talk, I’ll discuss the prudent approach for a multi-dimensional data exploitation and how Real-time and batch data can be analysed simultaneously at scale- allowing embedded analytic processing into the applications. This in turn enables programmatic decisions based on real-time analysis. We’ll discuss practical use cases for leveraging a real-time data integration pipeline to avoid all problems of classic Extract-Transform-Load tools, which are data processing latency, functional miscomprehension and metadata heterogeneity. The audience will infer the value of leveraging real time architectural approach towards enhancing the value-driven insights, reporting, quality and availability.

Generating Targeted AI revenue at Mass Scales
13h30 - 14h00Targeted and personalized marketing solutions powered by AI generally result in better ROI on a per deployment basis. But they have encountered the persistent problem of never being able to reach the scale of audiences and unit uplift that can be generated with mass campaigns. Deploying personalized solutions at scale is a complicated problem, but one that has huge upside if solved correctly. In this talk, I’ll discuss how AI can be realized at mass scales with a combination of engineering, data management and business process updates.

Building Large Scale Data Lakes with Apache Hudi (Incubating)
15h00 - 15h30With the proliferation of data in the past years, most business critical decisions are heavily influenced by deep data analysis. As companies rely more on data for their functioning; storing, managing and accessing data intelligently and efficiently is more important than ever before.
Traditionally, any conversation around data would revolve around how one can effectively ingest data into a large data warehouse. As more business decisions are driven by data in real time, we require strong guarantees such as acceptable latencies, high data quality and system reliability. Moving from a full-reload to a delta model of ingesting quickly became the primary way to ingest large amounts of data at scale. A number of such ingest patterns showcased how a transaction support on such datasets could benefit use-cases immensely.-

A More Human-centered Approach to AI
10h30 - 11h00Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have become ubiquitous and essential to user experiences across almost every industry, product category, and services. These advances have dramatically increased who can benefit from and who are affected by ML and AI. But how do we ensure these benefits are positive for everyone? How do we ensure whoever is affected by ML and AI gets a say in how they are used and can maintain their control of these technologies? How do we do all of this with a focus on equity and empowerment?
In this talk, Jess Holbrook, founder and lead of Google’s People + AI Research group (PAIR) will discuss practical steps to help make human-AI partnerships productive, enjoyable and fair for everyone to use, as well as ready-to-use tools that help developers build AI responsibly.-

Law & Disorder
15h00 - 15h30The unfortunate death of George Floyd and others has eroded significant trust between law enforcement and citizens which has created a demand for a means to assess police behavior to improve the safety of both citizens and law enforcement officers. The terms "defund the police" or "reform law enforcement" is part of the narrative from countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and all across America. With recent advances in technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning, it may be possible to better assess high-stress situations and help to improve law enforcement response with less reliance on violence. No one has yet addressed this challenge applying a solution using existing and emerging technology to affect change in law enforcement procedures during potential violent encounters.
The questions for this panel are: Law & Disorder – How will leadership & new technologies in artificial intelligence reshape law enforcement?
What challenges lie ahead & why? Who is making progress and how?

Workshop: An Introduction to Topic Modeling using Python
09h00 - 10h00"Topic Modeling" is an unsupervised learning method where we seek to group documents together that are about the same topic. We will consider some of the common topic modeling methods in Python such as K-Means Clustering and Latent Dirichlet Allocation, utilizing tools in the scikit-learn and gensim libraries. We show how these methods can be used to perform topic modeling using the same data set, together with common preprocessing steps in the analysis. We discuss advantages and drawbacks of each method, concentrating especially on the central question of "How many topics are contained in the documents in the data set?"

Securing the Future of Work: Securing the New Normal: How Cyber AI Learns on the Job
13h00 - 13h30The future of work remains unpredictable and uncertain. More than ever before, business leaders need to remain confident that their operations can continue securely in the face of global or even regional crises, and while sections of the economy are slowly re-opening, cyber-attackers are ramping up their campaigns. As businesses look set to rely on cloud and SaaS tools for the long term, our digital environments are going to be more dynamic than ever. Yet organizations are finding themselves undergoing a delicate balancing act—each new work practice and technology that is introduced also brings unforeseen risk.
Static, legacy approaches have become redundant, both unintelligent and ill-equipped to adapt. Organizations must rethink their approach to security, and rely on new technologies like AI to achieve much-needed adaptability and resilience. Darktrace leverages unsupervised machine learning to seamlessly adapt and integrate into changing environments, and to detect and respond to attacks in the earliest moments.-
