Celebrating 20 years in the Digital Media space, Karen has established a track record of building and growing digital media sales divisions within a variety of companies including Sympatico, Alliance Atlantis, Transcontinental and most recently the National Hockey League.
In each case, Karen has been on the forefront of digital media starting with selling the first ad in 1997 on Sympatico; to establishing a marketplace for video ads in 2001 with U8TV – The Lofters at Alliance Atlantis; to helping build an integrated platform called BalanceTV on Canadianliving.com in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, Canadian Living magazine and CTV; and most recently working with corporate partners and advertisers to engage with fans at the NHL.
Karen joined the Business Development Team at the NHL in 2008 as the first employee in Canada to focus on digital media sales to major agencies and brands. Her role has expanded significantly in her 10 years at the NHL to a more global strategic focus.
